Perissa

Bewitched by the exotic black sand beach

Every year, Perissa beach, one of the most famous and organized beaches of Santorini, welcomes thousands of tourists. Together with Perivolos and Agios Georgios beaches, which succeed one another, they form a huge coastline of 7km where exotic black sand prevails. Along the coastline you will indulge into various water sports and activities such as waterskiing, paragliding, wind surfing and diving into the magical sea of Santorini. You will also find countless beach bars, an organized camping, mini markets, as well as restaurants and fish taverns for all tastes. Most beach bars offer snacks and/or meals on the beach and organize parties daily during summer, thus making this beach very popular among young people. At the same time, it is an ideal destination for carefree holidays, being one of the best beaches for sunbathing and relaxing during hot days of summer. Last, but not least, matches or beach volley competitions are often organized both at local and national level.

The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and the Greek Society for the Protection of Nature that manages the international program for coastal protection in Greece, has awarded the beach of Perissa with the Blue Flag (http://eepf.gr/el/blueflags- 2015-greek-beaches-marinas), a symbol of quality in over 50 countries worldwide.
